Our Divine Mercy Home in Rome is the fulfillment of our dreams. We are an American Catholic couple. Our relationship to God in and through His Body, the Church, is everything to us. For many years we have been drawn to visit Rome again and again, always on pilgrimage to the heart of the Church, the place of the martyrdom of Saints Peter and Paul and countless other Christians, and the place that encloses the Vatican, home of Peter’s successors. We have dedicated our Roman apartment to the Divine Mercy, which is invoked on the whole world each first Sunday after Easter and every day at 3pm in the Chaplet of prayers given to St. Faustina by Our Lord. The apartment is within walking distance of the parish church of Santo Spirito in Sassia; the novena to the Divine Mercy that takes place there at 3 each day is one of the most moving religious services we have ever experienced. It is four blocks from the entrance to the Vatican Museum, .8 mile from the Basilica of St. Peter, and about .2 mile from the entrance to the Cipro Metro Station, from which one can quickly reach the Piazza del Popolo, the Spanish Stairs, the Papal Basilicas, ancient Rome, and trains for the airport and other parts of Italy. Anyone in decent physical condition can easily explore most of Rome’s famous sites through leisurely walks around the city.
Our neighborhood, Prati, is well served by restaurants, supermarkets, and stores where guests can buy any items they could possibly need. Our assistant in Rome, Micaela, will meet you at a pre-arranged time to give you the keys and explain how everything in the apartment works.
